We take our responsibility to care for all our students extremely seriously. We have specific policies and procedures for all our students who are aged under 16.
Emergency contact form
This must be completed by all students on arrival. Mobile phone numbers for all students aged under 16 are recorded as part of the notes we hold about each student on our database.
Daytime activities
These are compulsory for students aged 10 -15 at Residential Camps and on the Vacation Extra course, unless we receive written permission from parents or groups leaders allowing the student(s) to opt out.
We record the permissions granted in our activity log book and as part of the student's details on our database.
Activity registration
All students aged under 16 are required to be present for activity registration in the morning / afternoon.
Evening activities
These are optional for all students.
We conduct a registration on arrival for fire / safety purposes.
Evening curfew: Vacation Course and Vacation Extra course
Students under 16 at Kings Bournemouth are allowed to go out unsupervised in the evenings BUT MUST return to their host family by 22.30. Students aged 13-15 are not issued with a house key.
Students under 16 at Kings London are not permitted to travel into Central London without supervision by a member of staff or their Group Leader.
All students must adhere to local school rules at all times.
Evening curfew: Residential Summer Camps
Students are not permitted to leave the Camp without supervision. There is 24-hour supervision within the Camp.
Excursions
All students are expected to attend excursions. Attendance is compulsory for students under 16 unless we receive written permission from parents or group leaders allowing the student(s) to opt out.

Unsupervised free time during excursions
All students on excursions are given some free time for shopping. Students aged under 16 MUST stay together in pairs or small groups and MUST NOT leave the designated area which the guide has shown them.
During the free-time on excursions, an excursion guide will wait at a designated place so that they are easy to see and / or contact in case of problems.
Excursion Registration
During the coach journey to the excursion destination, all students are registered and the mobile phone numbers of all students are collected.
Airport check-in
All under 16’s travelling individually must book an Under 16 transfer which includes a check-in service by Kings staff. Under 16s travelling with a group will be checked-in by their Group Leader.
