SUNY Geneseo is the most selective of all the campuses in the State University of New York. Prestigious organizations rank SUNY Geneseo among the top public universities in the United States (The New York Times, Princeton Review, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, U.S. News & World Report), and the very best value for international students.
Overview Geneseo devotes the full measure of its resources to teaching undergraduates in small classes. Only professors teach here — never graduate students. Geneseo is noted for encouraging its students to pursue research projects under the direction of faculty. Each year nearly 1,000 students enroll in personalized "directed study" courses which allow them to work one-one-one with a faculty member. Finally, Geneseo is very proud of the fact that 49% of our graduates enter advanced degree programs immediately after graduation. There are outstanding undergraduate research opportunities with 700+ students presenting their research in 2011.
Rankings U.S. News & World Report consistently ranked 1st or 2nd – North Region Master's for over a decade. Consistently ranked 1st or 2nd "Best Value" in the USA for international students by Kiplinger's Personal Finance, only SUNY on the Fiske Guide's list of "Best Buy Schools" 2011. Named to Princeton Reviews' list of the country's best instituitions for undergraduate education. Internship programs ranked equal ninth in the USA on the SCA Internship Participation list.
